These horses will relish a slog in the mud at Ffos Las on Thursday 🏇

Ffos Las Racecourse

It’s a busy day of action on Thursday, with four meetings to keep us occupied. Jumps action comes from Naas, Exeter and Ffos Las, while Southwell and Chelmsford will keep the flat fans happy on a mild December day. We’ll have horse racing tips for all the action, including a NAP of the Day!

As of Wednesday evening, the going at Ffos Las is heavy. Each race is going to take some getting and you’ll need a horse who will relish the mud to be successful at the Welsh venue on the day. We’ve done the hard work for you and found three horses who can glide through the mud; find all the details below.

1.15 Ffos Las – Cazoo Novices’ Handicap Chase

With form figures of 1215632 in handicaps on soft or heavy ground, it’s fair to assume Ashfield Paddy loves a slog in the mud. Given that’s the case, the fact he finished second on his chasing debut on good to soft ground should be heavily upgraded.

Despite jumping right and making plenty of mistakes, he went down by just half a length and the handicapper has raised him just three pounds. If he can jump better, with ground conditions more in his favour, he holds obvious claims.

2.25 Ffos Las – vickers.bet Independent Family Run Bookmakers Mares’ Handicap Hurdle

A winning pointer on heavy ground back in 2020, Credo has run exclusively on good or good to soft ground since joining Anthony Honeyball for her rules career. A switch back to testing going today could work the oracle for her.

Unbeaten in a pair of bumpers last spring, she has finished third on both her hurdling starts thus far, bumping into smart rivals on both occasions. She’s totally unexposed for her handicap debut and an opening rating of 114 might not be enough to stop her breaking her hurdling duck.

2.55 Ffos Las – vickers.bet Odds Guaranteed Every Race Handicap Chase

Our NAP of the Day on Thursday, One Fer Mamma looks a chaser in the making. Four of his five rules runs have come on soft or heavy ground and his sole heavy defeat came on better going on his seasonal debut, which shows just how much he needs some cut in the ground.

He left that handicap/seasonal debut effort well behind when second at Haydock earlier this month, gliding through the mud and only going down by half a length. He should improve plenty for the switch to fences and off just a pound higher, he can get off the mark under rules.
