19-1 treble: Three horses that will love the testing ground at Punchestown on Monday

The ground at Leopardstown over the weekend has been in and around the yielding mark, which is very different to the conditions at Punchestown. Officially described as soft to heavy, the ground for Punchestown’s meeting on Monday is going to be difficult to get through.

With this in mind, we’ve picked out three horses with good records in testing conditions that could have an advantage. These three horses combine to form a 19-1 treble. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

1.20 Punchestown

Coko Beach (13-8, bet365) has been very competitive in some decent handicaps so far this season and was an easy winner of the Troytown at Navan back in November. He followed that up by finishing second in the Becher Chase over the National fences at Aintree when last seen. That was an excellent effort and there’s enough similarity between those fences and a cross country course to suggest this unique test will suit. He has an excellent record on heavy ground and is also a previous winner on soft to heavy.

1.50 Punchestown

La Malmason (5-4, bet365) battled to success in a competitive race at Cheltenham last time out and races off a 6lb higher mark here. Unbeaten on heavy ground, Gavin Cromwell’s six-year-old also has a good record on soft, meaning conditions should very much be to her liking.

3.20 Punchestown

Shannon Royale (5-2, bet365) was very disappointing when last seen but he’s much better than he was able to show at Navan. Gordon Elliott’s gelding easily dispatched the very useful Tullyhill on soft ground here on his penultimate start and was a comfortable winner of a bumper on heavy ground last season. There should be more to come and the ground is likely to aid his chances.
