Our tipsters' strongest bets for this meeting

Britvic Handicap (Class 6)
Harry Callahan silk

Harry Callahan

In a field of runners struggling for form, it’s wisest to side with HARRY CALLAHAN who has won three from his last four. He was beaten four lengths when last seen in a handicap, however that came over further where he was headed late on. This trip is ideal, and given his recent prolific spell, is hard to ignore in a very weak contest.

Pepsi Max Handicap (Class 3)
Sureyoutoldme silk

A fair few of these have something to prove, a statement that doesn’t apply to SUREYOUTOLDME who is well treated nudged up three pounds for an eye-catching win over track and trip last time. That came in a lower grade, however this hardly looks more competitive and as a result he gets to run off nearly a stone less. He is on an upward curve since returning from a break, and can continue that progression here.

J2O Handicap (Class 6)
Havana Ooh Na Na silk

Havana Ooh Na Na

A non-stayer over a mile at Newcastle last-time, HAVANA OOH NA NA had previously scored cosily over course and distance. He’s just four-pounds higher than for that success, and can return to winning ways dropped back to his ideal trip. It’s hard to make a case for the majority of the rest of the field.

Pepsi Max EBF Fillies' Novice Stakes (Class 5)
Constraint silk

Those with experience are yet to convince, and so a chance is taken on CONSTRAINT, whose dam won on the All-Weather over today’s trip. Andrew Balding’s filly is related to a three time winner, and wouldn’t have to be a world beater to scoop this race, running for a yard who operate at 19% with their three-year-olds on the All-Weather.

Fruit Shoot Fillies' Novice Stakes (Class 5)
Nearooz silk

A very taking winner on debut over seven at Newmarket, running on very well to lead late on, NEAROOZ should take some stopping despite the penalty. Connections, who are in fine form, obviously think a lot of her having entered her for the Guineas, and this looks a shade easier than her maiden in which the second has scored since. There looks to be plenty more to come upped in trip.

Tips For Wolverhampton Races

Located 15 miles from Birmingham, Wolverhampton is one of the busiest racing tracks in the UK and Ireland.

Course: One mile in circumference and flat, it has left handed bends which makes it a different to the majority of other tracks in the UK and is always considered when selecting our Wolverhampton tips. Previous experience is a plus.

Draw Bias: Wolves is generally a very fair track with little evidence of draw bias. The one exception is a low draw tends to be preferable to a higher draw over five furlongs.

Surface: The Tapeta surface was laid in 2014, replacing the old fibresand surface. It has won much praise from jockeys and is used on the gallops by some major names including Godolphin. Experience on the surface is another plus which is considered when selecting our tips.

Feature Race:  The Lady Wulfruna Stakes is an All Weather Championship qualifier run in March over seven furlongs. The winner of this Listed class race goes on to compete on All Weather Finals Day at Lingfield a month later.
