Our tipsters' strongest bets for this meeting

17:45
£20 Free Bets At totesport.com Nursery Handicap (Class 5)
Hard Taskmaster silk

Hard Taskmaster

Analysis
3/1

HARD TASKMASTER looks all set for the hat-trick tonight after wins over shorter at Lingfield and then Newcastle, running on strongly in both races suggesting the step up to a mile may well be enough to balance the added nine pounds from the handicapper. Rollicking looks the biggest danger though Shellbrook may also have more to offer.

18:15
totepool Cashback Club At totesport.com Fillies' Novice Stakes (Plus 10 Race) (Class 4)
Handmaiden silk

Handmaiden

Analysis
1/2

Narrowly denied in a much better race than this when last seen in July; off since but will take a lot of beating if returning at the same level.

18:45
Extra Places At totesport.com Handicap (Class 5)
American Endeavour silk

American Endeavour

Analysis
9/4

AMERICAN ENDEAVOUR threw away any chance he had with a tardy start last time that cost him at least four lengths yet he was only beaten two lengths at the line and can be considered an unlucky loser. Runs off a pound more but ought to reverse that form with Hic Bibi with a level break at these weights and may have more to worry about from Rux Ruxx and Sonnet Rose in that order.

19:15
Irish Lotto At totesport.com Handicap (Class 3)
Desert Frost silk

Desert Frost

Analysis
5/2

DESERT FROST is proving most consistent this year & got off the mark in handicap company at Epsom last time out when running on well when asked to go though a gap. Only up three pounds for that which seems generous and with Oisin Murphy on board he should prove hard to beat. Commander Han looks the one for the forecast and will try to make all, but ought to be cut down late by the selection who seems sure to appreciate the extra furlong.

19:45
Bet In Play At totesport.com Maiden Stakes (Class 4)

First foal of Grade 1 winning North America and cost a hefty $700,000. Should be able to pick up a race of this nature on debut for Owen Burrows.

20:15
Double Delight Hat-Trick Heaven At totesport.com Handicap (Class 5)

Both Indian Pursuit and Its All A Joke have been well supported but the value has all disappeared and at the priced AGUEROOO looks the one to be on each way ay least. He may not be the multiple winner of yesteryear but he finished a decent second off four pounds higher ion July and with the blinkers back on and Harry Burns claiming seven pounds, an upset could be on the cards.

20:45
Sound Financial Planning Handicap (Class 6)

Gemini has a good chance if in the same mood as last time out for Charlie Hills but will need to improve again to finish in front of LYFORD who really appreciated the step up in trip last time out when winning his first race, and looked to have plenty left in the tank if needed. An added four pounds seems lenient and at these weights a huge run if very much expected.

Tips for Chelmsford Races

Chelmsford City racecourse is an All Weather track located in Great Leighs, Essex. Based only 50 miles from Newmarket, and boasting excellent prize money, it regularly attracts high quality runners.

Course: Chelmsford races around a oval of approximately a mile, and features two chutes to allow for racing at all distances from five furlongs to a mile. The sweeping bends and two furlong straights mean our tips look for galloping types.

Surface: Chelmsford is run on a Polytrack surface, on which nearly £500,000 has been spent in recent years upgrading the racing surface to ensure it is as fair as possible and to reduce the initial kickback issues hold up horses suffered.

Draw Bias: Thanks to the track layout, there is no real draw bias for our tips to consider.

Feature Races: Racing at Chelmsford is of a high standard for All Weather, with Mark Johnston and Godolphin regularly providing runners. While their feature race in terms of class is the Listed Queen Charlotte Fillies’ Stakes in june, their biggest day is at the start of September. The card in 2017 provided over £200,000 prize money, including the Chelmsford City Cup – an extremely competitive seven furlong Class 2 handicap.
