4 of the best for Hughes who has a 45% strike-rate at Bangor this season

Waiting Patiently winning the Ascot Chase

Brian Hughes is arguably the best rider in the United Kingdom at present, going from strength to strength each week. He is currently in red-hot form and travels to Bangor tomorrow with four rides to look forward to.

He has ridden five winners from eleven runners at Bangor this season, operating at a 45% strike-rate and it will be a surprise if he leaves the Welsh track empty handed on Tuesday.

Below we take a look at his four rides in more detail…

12.30 – Get In Robin

Former point to point winner who tackles hurdles for the first time for Donald McCain who has been amongst the winners of late. The mare has shown promise in two bumper runs to date and this test will be more suitable.

13.35 – Beach Break

Another ride for Donald McCain here and this horse has a love for this track with two wins and a second from three previous visits. He caught the eye on his comeback run at Stratford and the fact Brian Hughes takes over in the saddle from a conditional could be a tip in itself.

14:35 – Armattiekan

If Donald McCain has a good day tomorrow, so will Hughes. This is another the combination team up with and although this horse has poor form over hurdles, he ran a great race on chasing debut when 4th over course and distance. He would have been much closer but for a mistake four out and there could be more to come from 3lb lower.

15:35 – Tim Rocco

This horse was amiss and was very disappointing at Southwell when last seen at the start of the month but that run was too bad to be true and he is much better than that. The first-time blinkers go on here and that could spark him back into life.
