Our tipsters' strongest bets for this meeting

Euan Robertson Memorial Novices' Handicap Hurdle (Class 5)
Broadway Dreams silk

Broadway Dreams

Showed some ability in juvenile hurdles last year and he ran his best race on the flat for a while at Kempton last time, could go well on handicap debut over hurdles.

Watch Racing UK On Sky 426 Mares' Handicap Hurdle (Class 4)
Shambra silk

SHAMBRA was unable to cope with a much deeper field when last seen but she showed that she was suited by sharp tracks in her early wins. A drop in the weights here should be enough to see her back in front. Toboggan’s Fire shaped well for a long way on her return to action and is well treated on her flat best, she looks the main danger to the selection.

Hammersly Lake Good Luck In America Tonight Handicap Chase (Class 5)
Saffron Prince silk

Saffron Prince

SAFFRON PRINCE is well suited to a sharp left handed track, shaping a little better last time out at Southwell. He is six pounds below his last winning mark so in a weak looking contest, he should be well up to cashing in. Anti Cool hasn’t run for more than two years but he was on a sharp upward curve when last seen so a bold sighting wouldn’t be a surprise.

Kevin Watson Lady Riders' Handicap Hurdle (Class 5)
Chilli Romance silk

Chilli Romance

CHILLI ROMANCE is yet to get her head in front but she has been placed on both visits to this track and having been competitive from higher marks, she might finally have been found a race weak enough to get her head in front. Canford Thompson is another with a string of places next to his name, while Brother Bennett ran well enough last time to get involved if he can follow that up with a similar display.

Tips for Stratford Races

Located in Stratford-on-Avon in Warwickshire, the majority of racing takes place during the summer months so the ground is often good. So there is rarely extreme going conditions to take into consideration for our tips.

Course: Stratford is a tight, turning track and combining that with the relatively good ground they often get, it suits speedy and nimble horses for our tips. You don’t want to be caught too far back as it’s hard to make up ground late on, owing to the short home straight.

Feature Race: The Foxhunters Champion Hunters’ Chase, taking place in June, is the feature in Stratford’s season. In 2018 Cheltenham and Aintree Festival regulars Wonderful Charm and Balnaslow were in the field.
