Our tipsters' strongest bets for this meeting

Leopardstown "Christmas Cracker" Nursery Handicap (Plus 10 Race)
Arcturus silk

Impressive when winning last time out & looks on a nice mark for handicap debut. Claimer takes off 7lbs also & the yard are in good form.

Killavullan Stakes (Group 3)
Old Glory silk

Old Glory

The principals met at Dundalk last time with No Needs Never getting the better of OLD GLORY on that occasion. He looked to do the selection for a turn of foot on a sharp track there, this course on yielding ground is going to put much more of an emphasis on stamina so the Ballydoyle inmate can get his revenge. Could Be King may fill out the frame as long as there isn’t more rain.

Trigo Stakes (Listed)
Success Days silk

Success Days

SUCCESS DAYS has been taking on deeper competition than this so far this season and may get his own way on the front end here. That tends to be the way he shows his best form so he may get the race to fall perfectly for him. Riven Light has done well since returning to the flat, very impressive in winning at Galway in August. Flavius has only had two starts, shaping as if there is plenty more to come from him.

Leopardstown Members Club Handicap
JJ's Journey silk

JJ's Journey

Shown ability in Maidens & makes handicap debut off a nice mark & open to plenty improvement. Excellent claimer takes off 5lbs also.

Tips for Leopardstown Races

One of the best known racecourse in Ireland, Leopardstown boasts both National Hunt and Flat racing. The course features a golf club in the middle of the track, and it also has it’s own pub and nightclub.

Course: All races are run on the same type of course, a left handed, flat one mile six furlong circuit with a three furlong run in. The lack of tight bends or undulations means our Leopardstown tips focus on galloping horses.

Draw Bias: Most races at Leopardstown are run over one mile or further, meaning there is little evidence of any draw bias, despite the races being run around a bend.

Dublin Racing Festival: Leopardstown races plays host to the new Dublin Racing Festival, which takes place in early February and features both the Irish Gold Cup and the Irish Champion Hurdle on the same weekend. Numerous competitors will be attracted to this meeting before going on to compete at the Cheltenham Festival, drawn in by the generous prize money.

Feature Races: As well as the two already mentioned, Leopardstown racecourse features a huge number of top quality races, all of which we have previews and tips for. These include the Irish Champion Stakes, the Christmas Hurdle, the Lexus Chase and the Matron Stakes.
