14:00
Pinker's Pond Apprentice Handicap (Class 6)
Saisons d'Or silk

Saisons d'Or

Analysis
6/1

Saisons d’Or was a winner at Southwell three starts ago and is currently on just a 1lb higher mark. Two defeats off this mark then followed but he’s 5lb better off with Filey Beach on this occasion and the veteran grey is capable of making his presence felt.

14:30
Download The Raceday Ready App Nursery Handicap (Class 6)

Aggressive tactics almost result in victory for this filly on her debut at Beverley in April and the sharper track, combined with faster ground should be to her liking. Second again in novice company last time out, the switch to handicaps will suit and 65 is a workable mark.

15:30
All Races Live On Racing TV Handicap (Class 5)
Beyond The Bar silk

Beyond The Bar

Analysis
10/1

Tim Easterby’s Beyond The Bar was an impressive winner of a novice race at Redcar last term and he made all the running on that occasion. Positive tactics could facilitate a return to winning ways here at Catterick and he’s yet to put his best foot forward in handicap company.

16:30
Racing Again 15th July Fillies' Handicap (Class 5)
Rogue Citation silk

Rogue Citation

Analysis
7/1

Rogue Citation was a very respectable third on debut Carlisle back in August and she improved to win a Southwell novice on her second start. Below-par on handicap and seasonal debut, she is capable of better than that and should improve plenty for the run.

Tips for Catterick Races

Catterick racecourse – also known as Catterick Bridge racecourse – is located in Yorkshire, right next to the River Swale and the A1 motorway. Racing was first held here in 1783, and it hosts both Flat racing through the summer and National Hunt races in the winter.

Course: Both types of courses follow the same tight oval layout.  The undulating track and very sharp bends favour front runners, while the gravel subsoil means the ground rarely gets too soft. Our Catterick tips often look for previous course winners who have shown an ability to act here.

Plans for an All Weather track and changes to the layout of the jumps track were approved in 2015, but with the development of the All Weather track at Newcastle those plans appear to be on hold.

Draw Bias: Over the sprint distances, there has historically been a slight bias towards lower drawn runners.

Feature Race: The North Yorkshire Grand National is the yearly feature race; a competitive Class 3 handicap run over three miles and six furlongs which we will have tips for every year..
