3 must-read trends for Saturday’s ITV Racing! + 17/1 Treble!

Ghaiyyath

Saturday’s action is a mouthwatering prospect, with Doncaster and Leopardstown hosting fantastic Group 1 cards. The feature, of course, is the Doncaster St Leger, but the Irish Champion Stakes provides another incredible prospect.

There will be eight races on ITV this Saturday, with contests from Doncaster, Chester and Leopardstown. We have ITV Racing Tips from all the races on site now!

If you’re a trends man, we’ve gone digging for three must-read trends ones from Saturday’s racing, and they can be found below!

Big names for big rewards!

Frankie Dettori is having a brilliant season at Doncaster, recording a 42% strike-rate from twelve rides! That equates to a level stakes profit of £17.16, with wins on Foxtrot Lady (18/1), Indigo Girl (100/30) and New Mandate (17/2) highlighting his week!

With Ryan Moore staying over in Ireland, Dettori gets Aidan O’Brien’s box office ride in the St Leger aboard Santiago. Since being upped in distance this season, he’s been sensational, winning both the Queen’s Vase and Irish Derby in sublime fashion.

Taking on his elders, he was a brilliant third in the Goodwood Cup behind Stradivarius when last seen. Back down in distance Stygian his own generation, a second Classic awaits.

Another for the Brits?

The Irish Champion Stakes has been a race dominated by British runners in recent years. Six of the last eight winners were trained on that side of the Irish Sea and away sides sole representative in 2020 has an above average chance, to say the least.

Ghaiyyath has been superlative this year, a perfect four out of four including three Group 1 races. He was scintillating in the Juddemonte International last time when defeating Magical and you’d struggle to see her reversing the places three weeks on.

This would be the crowning glory for a horse in the ascendancy and the crowning glory of an incredible Champion.

Morando and Balding are a Chester force!

If you want profit at Chester, then Andrew Balding is the man to follow. He’s sent 178 runners to the venue in the past five seasons, with a level stakes profit of £39.42 from forty winners! His best chance on Saturday is undoubtedly Morando, who bids for Listed glory in the Stand Cup.

He’s four pounds clear on ratings and has been aimed high in two 2020 starts. He was far from disgraced in the Hardwicke at Royal Ascot and was given a lot to do when third in the Geoffrey Freer against a pace bias.

He’s unbeaten in two visits to Chester, with one of those being a Group 3 success ahead of Kew Gardens. If he runs to anywhere near that form standard, he’ll be very tough to beat.
