Three not to miss at Chantilly on Wednesday

Decent racing from Chantilly on Sunday.

Top-class action keeps coming in France where Chantilly stages a ten-race card on Wednesday full of interest.

The Racing Post’s Bill Barber has picked out three to keep an eye on.

Celestin (10.00 Prix du Belvedere)

The Chantilly card looks set to open with a hot favourite in the shape of Celestin who won his last two starts last season.

The Fabrice Chappet-trained colt was especially impressive at Toulouse in November, bolting up by six and a half lengths in a Listed contest.

While he may not have the benefit of a run this season like Moshadid, he does boast by far the strongest form in the field.

Simeen (10.30 Prix de la Pistole)

The Aga Khan’s filly could have run in the Classic trial Prix de la Grotte at Longchamp on Monday but trainer Jean-Claude Rouget has decided to send her here instead.

She will bid to extend her unbeaten sequence to three under the brilliant Christophe Soumillon.

Her main competition according to the market will be Bionic Women, fourth in the Prix Marcel Boussac in October.

Alocasia (1.12 Prix Texanita)

This daughter of Kingman found only French 1,000 Guineas favourite Tropbeau too strong at Deauville last July.

The Henri-Francois Devin-trained filly went on to collect a Listed win at Maisons-Laffitte in September.

She only managed fifth in the Criterium de Maisons-Laffite but is well worth a close watch here after Tropbeau won the Group 3 Prix de la Grotte at Longchamp on Monday.
