August Tips Review

Another month over and another frustrating one here at myracing HQ. We made a profit on the month, but it was disappointingly small, especially as we were more than £400 up at the halfway point of the month. To end up with £114.57 profit was deflating for all involved given the work that goes on behind the scenes to keep the tips flowing. Let’s check over the figures from August.

Lucky 15 + £506

A huge month on the Lucky 15 took us past the £1,200 profit mark for 2017 at the end of August. Four times the profit on the bet went over three figures during the month, with a further eight days of profit from the bet on top. The best day came on the 10th, when £194 profit was made on the bet, swiftly followed on the 11th by another £114 to add to the coffers. We ended the month in style as we were another £166 in front, as part of the £257 profit smashed in on Wednesday 30th.

Singles + £418

It will be no surprise to anyone that August saw yet more profit on our singles, a further £418 to add to the £4,895 we were already in profit from the bet on the year so far. November 2016 remains the only month since we started tracked every single in May 2016, that we failed to turn a profit on the bet. 20/1 X2, 18/1, 16/1, 14/1 X2 + more winners, ably supported by places that featured 33/1, 25/1 X2, 22/1 and 20/1 amongst others meant that those who were on the singles were in clover once more. A £307 profit as part of a £572 profit on a cracking Saturday was the feature of the month. We all get money signs in our eyes with multiples from time to time, but it is the steady profit month after month on the singles that is the foundation we build from.

Early Tip + £268

The Early Tip has had an inconsistent year, two amazing months and two poor months in the last four but over £350 in profit so far in 2017 despite some months that have had us frustrated. 25/1 and 20/1 winners on the Early Tips were both much welcome as we look to provide a selection each day that is going to end up considerably shorter in the market once post time arrives.

The August Bad

  • Mega Acca – £140
  • Win Acca – £170
  • NAP – £181
  • Previews – £232
  • Doubles – £354

Having made a profit on the Mega Acca in May and June, it was annoying to see it fall back down in the negative again in August. Not even close to the same annoyance as with the Win Acca though, with twelve, yes TWELVE, missing by a single horse, including two on one day on the 11th, in a week where for six days in a row we missed it by one. Lady luck never smiled on us all month with the bet, just a couple going the other way would have put us into profit. We did land a £169 Acca on Friday the 25th to at least make sure we didn’t go through the month without a BOOM.

The NAP of the day had a horrible month, having turned a profit in three of the last four months on the bet, including £151 in July, it was so disappointing to have such a poor run. We are all too aware that it isn’t good enough on our best bet of the day. The Previews failed to make a profit for the first time in the seven months since we started tracking them separately from the singles. A preview for every day at Glorious Goodwood dug a hole with some unfathomable results which we could never escape from while the Doubles continue to have a poor year. Given that we made a £2,870 profit on the doubles from October 1st to January 31st, the run they have been on since has been impossible to understand, but we will be trying our best as always to deliver better news on them in September.
