The lightly raced Westport won his firs three starts and was particularly impressive under a double penalty at Hamilton on his penultimate start. He can be forgiven for his run at Royal Ascot and that would have been a good learning experience. The small field will suit here.
Adam Kirby’s Bill The Bull was only a length behind the winner when fourth in a course and distance Listed contest in May and he he followed that up with an impressive success in a Class 2 maiden at Bath. Another big run at this level could be on the cards.
Owen Burrow’s Gymbaazy stayed on well to get off the mark over course and distance last month, despite looking a bit green a getting off to a slow start. That experience won’t be lost on the son of Siyouni and there should be more to come.
Marnier was a little unlucky when third over course and distance on his first attempt over 1m6f and may well have finished closer with a clearer run. The handicapper has dropped him 1lb since and he should be bang in the mix.
David Evans’ Undercover Affair has been busy in sellers and novice races and will be well suited to handicaps. His experience is going to be a big bonus and he was a winner over this trip at Goodwood last month. Another big run could well be on the cards.
Garde Des Champs has been dropped another 3lb by the handicapper for his latest effort and was last victorious off a 4lb higher mark here over a shorter trip last July. The step back up in trip could help and the form of his narrow second here in August suggests he’s very well treated.
The lightly raced Empirical produced a solid display to finish third over course and distance on handicap debut in May. The handicapper has left this mark alone and Ed Walker’s gelding should be getting off the mark sooner rather than later.
Charlie Johnston’s Wadacre Geisha remains unexposed in handicap company and she was a short head away from getting off the mark when second at Beverley last time out. She’s been raised 2lb by the handicapper but won’t need to improve much in order to go one better.
Lucky 15 tips provide a balance between the safety of singles (gaining a good chunk of your stake back if just one horse wins – so if the first of your 4 horses wins you definitely have a return) and the huge returns of an accumulator across four winning horses. They also remove that horrible feeling of being one leg off landing an accumulator as even if one horse loses you still win a large number of the 15 bets meaning healthy returns!
Our Each Way Lucky 15 tips consists of 30 bets in total – 15 “to win” bets, and 15 “to place” bets. Therefore, a £1 Each Way Lucky 15 totals £30, but even just one place will get you a return – albeit a small one!
A Lucky 15 involves backing 4 selections (horses) with 15 different bets – 4 singles, 6 doubles, 4 trebles and one four fold accumulator. It offers a return for just one winning horse, while also increasing returns as more of your 4 horses win. As a Lucky15 involves 15 bets, the total cost of the bet is your Stake times 15. So a £1 Lucky 15 actually costs £15, a £2 Lucky 15 costs £30, and so on.
There are 3 types of “Lucky” bets in total:

We usually tip a To Win Lucky 15, rather than an Each Way Lucky 15, which means we need the 4 selections to win and not just place. Our tips vary in price from Evens to 5/1, but we generally try to keep them above 5/2 although it will depend on the tips our tipsters have available.
