Racing on Monday comes from four different venues. Musselburgh, Plumpton, Chelmsford and Wolverhampton all host action to kick off the week. With both jumps and flat racing, there’s something for everyone!
We’ll have horse racing tips for all the action, including a NAP of the Day as well as a pair of accumulators. I’ll be focusing on the bigger prices in this article.
There’s plenty of competitive action on Monday, which has pushed some horses out to very tempting prices. I’ve picked out three horses with great chances at bigger prices, to bring you Owen’s Outsiders!
He’s been disappointing thus far, but DORKING ROGUE is from a very useful family and it surely capable of better. He’s been well beaten in a pair of hurdling events, with both of those runs coming on good to firm.
A switch to softer ground could help today, with his half-brother Dorking Boy winning on that ground and other close family members doing the same. If that surface change does have a positive effect, plenty of improvement can surely be expected.
If that is the case, he doesn’t have an insurmountable standard to aim at for the placings. Tom Lacey is on the hot trainers list at the moment and he’s a very interesting contender at a big price.
It’s still very early days for STAR OF WELLS, who has raced just three times since joining David Loughnane. He made a very promising debut for the yard over slightly shorter, finishing a close fourth in a similar race to this.
A run over hurdles didn’t work out and the twelve-furlong distance didn’t seem to suit back on the flat last time, as he was never involved. He drops back in distance today, which is a positive move, and Laura Perason takes over the ride. That removes a very useful seven pounds from his back.
With the handicapper also giving him a two-pound reprieve, there’s a huge amount to like about his chances.
He’s far from consistent, but DOLPHIN VILLAGE is on a basement mark and his best results tend to come in the winter months. He posted his best effort in a long while when sixth at Chelmsford last time, with missing the break doing the damage early on.
His last victory came at this venue back in February and he does have a useful record at Chelmsford. He does need to build on his latest outing, but if he’s able to do so, this mark won’t be stopping him winning under Jimmy Quinn.
