Know All The Angles: Chelmsford outsiders and tips for myracing’s sponsored meeting 🍾

It is a big night for myracing.com as we are pleased to sponsor yet another meeting. We love to contribute to the horse racing industry when we can and it is an honour to sponsor two races at Chelmsford Racecourse on Friday night under the lights. We will provide our followers with a tip for each and every race on the card and Adrian Wall will throw in a couple of outsiders at big prices to keep an eye on in the market too. Find our daily free horse racing tips on the website.

4.45 – 3rd March Winning Connections Networking Handicap (7f)

Nine runners go to post for this 0-55 rated handicap and David Evans’ FIDHA is our selection. The lightly raced three-year-old filly ran well over the extended mile at Wolverhampton last month. Despite racing very freely and despite being carried right in the home straight, she kept on gamely to finish third. The first time visor will hopefully settle her and she looks well treated.

5.15 – Ladies Day With Sophie Ellis-Bextor Handicap (1m2f)

If Fidha can win the opener, that will bode very well for the chances of LITTLE RAVEN, who beat her convincingly at Wolverhampton last month. The George Boughey-trained colt followed up at Newcastle 10 days later and although he is up another 4lb in the weights, he’s effectively 3lb lower as a 7lb claimer takes over in the plate.

5.45 – Happy 70th Birthday Brian Yershon Handicap (1m2f)

Hollie Doyle is always a well sought after rider at these all-weather meetings and she can ride DANNI CALIFORNIA to victory. She was only beaten two lengths into second by a 94-rated rival at Wolverhampton in Class 2 company last month. Running off a lowly mark of 68 and dropping down into Class 5 grade, she must have a massive opportunity.

6.15 – Know All The Angles With myracing.com Novice Stakes (1m2f)

Godolphin have three participants here so the market could tell the story but John Gosden’s THUNDERSHOWER looks the real deal on paper. The daughter of Iffraaj is related to Frankel through the dam side and she receives weight from the entire field. She will probably be green first time out but this stoutly-bred runner should be ready to go.

6.45 – Betsi Handicap (6f)

Marco Ghiani is a jockey heading right to the top of the sport and is already operating at 23 per cent this season. He will ride the Stuart Williams-trained ACCELERANDO who boasts major claims. This filly has been placed twice over this course and distance twice already, beaten half a length and a neck here back in November. A return to this track will suit.

7.15 – One Night Of Queen 2nd June Handicap (1m)

JENSON BENSON has brilliant form figures that read 13132 at Chelmsford and the gelding can register his third win around here. The four-year-old son of Kodi Bear was sent off a well backed favourite over track and trip when second to Almaan last month. He raced quite keenly through his race and hung left close home, only to be nabbed close to the winning line. Compensation should await.

7.45 – myracing.com Know All The Angles Classified Stakes (1m)

CRAZY SPIN should be able to land our second sponsored race of the evening. Ivan Furtado’s six-year-old mare is a front runner on a front runner’s track from a front runner’s draw in stall one. She was second in a similar race over track and trip last month and ran well in defeat at Southwell twice since. If she gets a soft lead here, she will be hard to peg back.

8.15 – Support The Injured Jockeys Fund Amateur Jockeys’ Handicap (1m2f)

Simon Walker is the best amateur pilot in Britain on the Flat and he can guide SURREY PRINCESS to victory to cap off a wonderful night. George Baker’s well bred Kingman filly has improved for each run to date and ran a career-best when upped to this distance at Lingfield last month. Dropped 2lb for that run, she probably has a favourite’s chance.

Adrian Wall’s Outsiders to follow

In the 5.15, Dashing To You looks overpriced at first glance and could be worth a small each-way play. Little Raven will be tough to beat but William Stone’s runner could run a big race with Hollie Doyle in the plate. A winner at Brighton last August over a mile, he is only 2lb higher on the all-weather now, is lightly raced and wasn’t beaten far here in higher grade off 1lb higher in December.

The other runner to watch in the betting is King Cristophe in the 8.15. This horse hasn’t been seen for 479 days but is having his first start for Adrian Keatley, a trainer in good form with three winners from his last 10 runners. Once rated 88 on the Flat when trained in Ireland, the 10-year-old was only beaten a couple of lengths in a competitive Galway handicap off 56 in the summer of 2020. If Keatley has him back to anywhere near that, he looks very well treated running off 46.
