It must be some weekend of racing when the Grade One Betfair Chase sits second on the bill. The clash between Altior and Cyrname at Ascot in the 1965 Chase is one for the ages, evoking memories of Kauto Star versus Denman from yesteryear.
Unibet’s Money Back Bonus in which they’re giving new customers up to £40 back if their first bet loses comes at a perfect time then.
Those who do not currently have an account with Unibet should register with them here.
After making a deposit into their account, new customers should place a bet on the Racing of at least £1 and at minimum odds of 2/5 (1.40).
If your bet wins, you will receive both your winnings and your stake. If your bet loses, you willl receive your stake back as a bonus up to a maximum of £40.
You will then be credited with a £10 casino bonus on the following working day after you’ve made your first deposit.
Our focus this weekend will be on Ascot and Haydock, which feature seven races live on ITV Racing.
There’s little to split Altior and Cyrname in the 1965 Chase on ratings, with the latter rated a pound superior after landing the Ascot Chase over track and trip by seventeen-lengths in February. His last two runs at Ascot have seen him post RPRs of 178 and 181, seeing him rated the highest-rated chaser in training.
He’s yet to face a rival in the same league as Altior however. Nicky Henderson’s nine-year-old has won nineteen consecutive starts, ten of which have come at the highest level. He ventures beyond two-miles-two for the first time in his twenty two race career as connections map out a path towards the King George on Boxing Day. Whomever you’ll be siding with on Saturday, Unibet’s New Customer bonus looks perfect for use.
The Ascot Hurdle went the way of Harry Fry’s If The Cap Fits in 2018. He faces a true test if he’s to regain his crown in the form of Nicky Henderson’s Call Me Lord and the Skeltons’ Roksana. The latter landed the Mares’ Hurdle at Cheltenham Festival and has been beaten just a head and a neck in two runs at Aintree since. She won’t go down without a fight on Saturday.
The action from Haydock is no less competitive, with the Betfair Chase seeing Bristol De Mai bid for a hat-trick of wins in the race. Nigel Twiston-Davies’ grey landed the race in 2017 by fifty-six lengths and was no less imperious when beating Native River et al last year.
He faces an up and coming rival in the form of Lostintranslation, who announced himself as the best staying novice chaser last year with a bloodless win in the Mildmay at Aintree. Colin Tizzard’s seven-year-old confirmed his wellbeing with a taking win at Carlisle on his return in which he jumped like a stag. Another fiendishly tough race to decipher, Unibet have the perfect solution.
We have a NAP Of The Day, of which seven of our last ten have landed. This is our strongest fancy for each day’s racing. On Saturday, we like the chances of Documenting. A course and distance winner, he’s favoured by today’s weights and arrives here on the back of three solid efforts in deeper races.
Other tips throughout the day include our Next Best, and an Early Value selection whom we think will outrun their considerable odds which returned at 12/1 on Saturday.
We’ve landed 24/1 and 10/1 Doubles in recent weeks, and we had a 16/1 Acca hit the spot on Monday.
As usual, we have tips and analysis for the racing across the UK and Ireland as well.
New customers can claim this offer through the Unibet site.
