3 Outsiders for the Goffs UK Premier Yearling Stakes

Mums Tipple wins impressively at York's Ebor Festival

The big sales races are always a proper puzzle for punters. A big field of unexposed juveniles who will improve at different rates is a fascinating race to try and solve. The Goffs UK Premier Yearling Sales at York on Thursday has seen Richard Hannon dominate this race in recent years. It’s a contest that has seen three double-figure priced winners in the last eight years so looks worth exploring for outsiders. See our ITV Racing Tips to find our tip for the race.

Out The Hat

Took a big step forward for softer ground and the step up to this trip. His debut wasn’t without promise, leaving as much in the stalls as he was beaten. The winner of that was second in a Group 3 at Glorious Goodwood subsequently. The rain has come for him so it would be no surprise to see him take another step forward.

Kraken Power

Sent off 8/1 in a Listed race two starts back before a victim of trouble at Glorious Goodwood. He’s worth ranking a little better than that, even still, it was his best RPR. His win came on good to soft so he won’t mind the rain that has fallen with his yard ticking over well.

Power Station

Represents the Richard Hannon yard who have done so well in this race in recent years. Both starts have come over seven furlongs so far, showing at least some ability. His pedigree suggests he’ll do better for this softer surface, travelling well for a long way last time. Both runs have been over seven but perhaps the step down to sprinting will help.
