There’s lots to like about the unexposed McMurray and the three-year-old is unbeaten in three handicap starts. George Boughey’s gelding began the campaign with victory in a competitive race at Chester and there’s a good chance that he remains ahead of the handicapper.
Starlust landed the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint back in 2024 and the five-year-old ran a cracker to finish second in the Nunthorpe on his penultimate start. A fair fourth in a Group 1 at the Curragh after that, a reproduction of either piece of form should be enough here.
Michael Dods’ Arapaho Gold is unbeaten in four starts and has progressed through the ranks. He landed the Gimcrack Stakes at York on his most recent start and only carries a 3lb penalty as a result. The son of Bayside Boy is very much the one to beat.
Silent Beauty produced a very smart performance when winning by four lengths on debut and connections threw her into the deep end at Royal Ascot next time. She left that run behind her when winning a Listed race at Ripon easily last time out and that’s the best form on offer.

Jane Chapple-Hyam’s Primo Lara has been in good form of late, winning three of his last four starts, including his most recent run at Kempton earlier this month. The handicapper has responded with a 4lb rise but further progress can’t be ruled out.
Ice Max was last victorious in a Nottingham Listed contest over a mile in October and Karl Burke’s five-year-old was a good third in the Huxley Stakes at Chester in May. This is his easiest task of the season so far and there will be no excuses here.
Almekarem has progressed this year and he won at Doncaster with plenty in hand earlier this month, despite being slow to get into stride in the early stages. More will be needed in this grade now on a 5lb higher mark but he looks like one to keep on side for the time being.
Deep Havana produced a monster performance to win at Thirsk on his first start for 500 days and the very lightly raced five-year-old is entitled to improve for that run. A 5lb rise seems reasonable and it would be unwise to rule out another big run here.
Flash Harry returned to winning ways with victory in a competitive handicap at Goodwood last time out and a 4lb rise is more than reasonable. We haven’t seen the best of Clive Cox’s four-year-old and he can produce a massive performance here.

Taking over from Channel 4 racing at the beginning of 2017, the terrestrial television coverage of horse racing has been taken over by ITV. There is a mix of horse racing tips, discussion and features which strike a fair balance between those who have been watching racing for a long time and those who are new to the ‘Sport of Kings.’ Fronted by former Sky Sports football presenter Ed Chamberlain, his experience in the way that sport is presented on television has been a hugely important factor in the gravitas of the show. Both Francesca Cumani and Sally Ann Grassick come from famous racing families, growing up around horse racing, they are a huge asset to the coverage. ATR fans will know both Luke Harvey and Jason Weaver as well as the greatest jump jockey of all time, Tony McCoy.
The importance of social media to horse racing goes beyond just the business of betting. While horse racing tips are always going to be a huge draw on both Twitter and Facebook, as we can fully testify with more than a quarter of a million followers who you can join @myracingtips. ITV Racing have brought in the social stable, drawing on the popularity of Emmet Kennedy and Kevin Blake from ATR as well as using Oli Bell’s ideas on how to bring a new audience into horse racing. We will have ITV racing tips for every race shown live in the coverage throughout the year.
Our ITV tips are updated the day before ITV racing takes place by 7pm. This is normally on Friday evening. We will have racecards up for all races to be shown live on either ITV, ITV3 or ITV4 four days before, detailing the possible fields at the early stages. For big races and big meetings, we will often add previews and tips weeks before, especially for Cheltenham Festival and the Aintree Grand National Festival, as well as the big races over Christmas. These will include the Cheltenham New Year’s Day meeting, the first meeting to be shown on ITV in 2017.
