Age Of Wisdom silk

Age Of Wisdom

Analysis
8/1

AGE OF WISDOM, rated 80 on the All-Weather and a four-time winner on the level, is of definite interest on handicap debut over hurdles. He stayed up to two-miles on the level, so the trip today will be well-suited over obstacles, and he has ran well behind a few promising sorts in novice races. He can improve for the switch to handicapping and go well here. Western Morning scored on chase debut off this mark, and runs from two-pounds in returned to hurdling. Nevertheless, he was beaten seventeen-lengths in this sphere previously, finishing thirteen-lengths behind Ermyn’s Emerald. The latter is eight-pounds worse off, but is taken to confirm the form and can figure.

Anytime Will Do silk

Anytime Will Do

Analysis
10/11

Running under a double penalty, ANYTIME WILL DO has to concede chunks of weight to the field. Nevertheless, he is three-from-three under rules, those successes all coming over two-miles on good ground. He can complete a four-timer before aimed to more competitive affairs. Chaparral Prince is the obvious danger for a typically in-form yard, but has failed to convert his chances in juvenile races so far. He gets twenty-one pounds from the selection, rated just eight-pounds inferior, but is up against it facing older rivals today. Hes No Trouble was a winner between the flags who ran well enough over further on hurdling debut, beaten just sixteen-lengths by one rated 146.

Knight Destroyer has been given a real chance here having been dropped five-pound since he was last seen. Preference is for THOUNDER though, who bounced back to form when second at Leicester last time out. He has been raised two-pound for that effort, but talented claimer Niall Houlihan now takes a valuable ten pounds off of his back. Celtic Joy rates as the main danger to the selection.

Clondaw Castle silk

Clondaw Castle

Analysis
6/4

The one to beat is CLONDAW CASTLE, who got off the mark at the third attempt over fences when scoring at Leicester last month. He now makes his handicap debut from what looks a workable opening mark, and he is backed to land this contest prior to taking up an engagement in the Close Brothers Handicap Chase at the Cheltenham Festival. Peppay Le Pugh looks the strongest forecast option if ready to go after a break.

Vocaliser silk

Vocaliser

Analysis
9/1

Air De Rock may be a thirteen-race maiden, but he has enough the last thrice to suggest that he has races in him. At the prices, however, the vote goes to VOCALISER. Charlie Poste’s mount was a winner of a competitive handicap chase at Kempton in March. He is without a win from his six starts since, but as a result, he is now three-pound below his last winning mark, and he shaped with promise on his latest run at Sandown.

Miss Delighted silk

Miss Delighted

Analysis
66/1

Loveherandleaveher will undoubtedly be popular with punters this afternoon, but this race looks more open than the market suggests, and therefore, a chance is taken on MISS DELIGHTED. This daughter of Getaway finished second in a bumper at Cork in April, and she he looks sure to appreciate the step up to this 2m4f trip on her hurdles debut.

Tips for Huntingdon Races

Located in Cambridgeshire, Huntingdon is a National Hunt only racecourse. It is only 25 miles from Newmarket which is the base of many big flat trainers, so it’s not unusual to see them introducing horses to hurdles for the first time at the venue.

Course: The circuit is a mile and a half, very flat with wide, sweeping bends. Therefore it suits speedy horses for our tips.

Feature Races: The Grade 2 Peterborough Chase is the highlight of the season at Huntingdon. It is run over two and a half miles and often tracks some brilliant horses. Cheltenham Festival winners Edredon Bleu and Best Mate both won this race. We also have tips for the Sidney Banks Memorial Novices’ Hurdle which is sometimes used as a stepping stone to the big spring festivals.
