Jack Hyde finished third behind Palladium on his penultimate start and stayed on well to score by three lengths here last time out. Further progress seems likely and he definitely shapes as if the step up in trip will suit.

The Dancing Lass

Analysis
16/1

The Dancing Lass makes the switch to handicaps here and Mel Rowley’s mare is entitled to improve plenty for it. There were some more positive signs at Ludlow last month and we should start to see what she’s made of from now on.

Join Southwell Golf Club Handicap Hurdle (Class 4)

Aggagio returned to winning ways with a comfortable three-length win at Warwick and the Gary & Josh Moore-trained seven-year-old avoids a penalty for that success. Now is therefore the time to catch him and he should be in the mix once again.

Tips for Southwell Races

Situated in Nottinghamshire, Southwell has both an All-Weather flat track as well as a turf National Hunt track. Therefore it’s a very busy racecourse and the jump racing takes place throughout the year in the summer and also the winter months.

Course: The track is a left-handed oval of around a mile. It is quite flat and tight which in the summer months when the ground is quicker, favours speedy types. The run-in is just under a furlong from the final flight so we wants our tips to be right there at the last.

We always watch out for Dan Skelton horses for our tips at Southwell as he’s the top trainer at the track over the past 5 seasons. Also when other big stables send runners here it’s very noteworthy, with Paul Nicholls and Nicky Henderson having 60% and 28% strike rates in that same 5 year time period.
