This isn’t the strongest Group 2 in the world and Flora Of Bermuda can take full advantage. She landed a Group 3 over this trip at Goodwood in July and was a fair second behind More Thunder in the Park Stakes. Andrew Balding’s filly looks like the one to beat on recent form.

It’s very hard to look past Musical Times here, as the Charlie Appleby-trained filly looked well above average when bolting up in a Group 2 over a mile at Doncaster last time out. Winning by more than seven lengths on that occasion, she should be much too good for them once again.
Lord Byron is still a maiden over hurdles but his excellent effort at the Punchestown Festival when last seen indicates that he’s well up to winning this. He was second in a 2m4f Grade 1, finishing just a head behind King Rasko Grey, and this looks like a weak Grade 2.
Regency Royal showed plenty when finishing second on debut so his below-par display at Goodwood was a head-scratcher. Leaving that run well behind him when winning well at Chester last time out, he can take another step forward here.
Ralph Beckett’s Glory Road remains lightly raced, especially in handicap company, and he was a game winner over this trip at Haydock last time out. He was well beaten in the Melrose but this looks easier and the best is surely yet to come from the son of Too Darn Hot.
Le Beau Madrik was second in a couple of bumpers and is 3/4 over hurdles, winning all of his completed starts. Dan Skelton’s gelding was last seen winning a four-runner novice hurdle by a wide margin and a mark of 137 shouldn’t be beyond him.
Study Of Words could hardly have been more impressive when winning a maiden here over 1m2f last term and the son of Frankel scored by 15 lengths. Second behind a useful rival in an Ascot handicap last time out, he’s been gelded since and improvement can’t be ruled out.
Mussab has turned a corner recently and the son of is progressing well. He got off the mark with an impressive victory in a Newcastle novice last month, where he scored by four lengths, and improved again to win a Listed race at Ayr next time. Another big run is anticipated.
Aidan O’Brien’s Golden Ring took a couple of starts to get the hang of things but the penny dropped at Dundalk last time out and she was an impressive winner over a mile. The shorter trip should be fine and it’s likely that there’s lots more improvement to come.
