Tips for Leicester Races

Leicester Racecourse was opened in 1883 and is a dual purpose venue, with both Flat and National Hunt races taking place. It was the scene of the infamous Flockton Grey ringer case, one of the largest betting scandals in British racing.

Course: A right-handed oval with a circuit of about a mile and 6 furlongs, with a 7 furlong straight for Flat races up to that distance.

It’s an undulating track and ours tips need to have plenty of stamina, especially as the ground can often get very testing. This can also make the fences difficult so good jumpers are at a bigger advantage at Leicester.

Draw Bias: In races up to 7 furlongs there is a slight bias for our tips to consider, that low drawn numbers fare a little better.

Feature Race: The King Richard III Stakes is a Listed 7 furlong race in April. It’s restricted to horses aged 4 and older who haven’t won a Group 1 or 2 race for the past 2 years.
