Our tipsters' strongest bets for this meeting

12:10
British EBF "National Hunt" Novices' Hurdle (Qualifier) (GBB Race) (Class 3)

It’s hard to knock the form of Wingmen’s bumper victory at the Punchestown Festival in May, with the third coming out and winning two races subsequently. Clearly he has a substantial engine as he won comfortably on hurdles debut, despite some sketchy jumping, and he should improve on that front.

SSS Super Alloys Novices' Chase (GBB Race) (Class 2)
Caldwell Potter silk

Caldwell Potter

Analysis
10/11

Expensive purchase Caldwell Potter is one of Paul Nicholls’ most promising horses and he did well to win on stable and chase debut at Carlisle recently, despite looking very fresh. It’s fair to expect improvement from this lightly raced gelding and the step up in trip should suit.

13:15
Catesby Estates Handicap Hurdle (Class 3)

Bo Zenith was last seen finishing second in a Grade 1 at Aintree by a very narrow margin and makes his debut for Nicky Henderson here. That form suggests a mark of 135 could be very generous and he’s one to keep an eye on in handicap hurdles.

13:50
Sonic The Hedgehog 3 Coming Soon Handicap Chase (Premier Handicap) (GBB Race) (Class 1)
Chianti Classico silk

Chianti Classico

Analysis
15/8

Chianti Classico won the Ultima Handicap Chase at the Cheltenham Festival as a novice last term and looked good when winning at Ascot on seasonal debut. A 5lb higher mark looks unlikely to stop him and he could be far too good for them here.

14:25
Unibet Middle Distance Chase Series Veterans' Handicap Chase (Qualifier) (Class 2)
Dashel Drasher silk

Dashel Drasher

Analysis
13/2

Dashel Drasher is probably better known for his exploits over hurdles but the fact that he has a 4lb lower mark over fences catches the eye. Third behind Pic d’Orhy in a Grade 2 at Ascot when last seen, this is a steep drop in grade and he can take full advantage.

15:00
Glenfarclas Crystal Cup Cross Country Handicap Chase (GBB Race) (Class 2)

Stumptown has a solid record at Cheltenham and was a comfortable five-length winner here back in January. Gavin Cromwell’s gelding has adapted well to Cross Country racing, winning back-to-back starts in this sphere at Punchestown, and it’s therefore hard to look past him.

15:35
Citipost Handicap Hurdle (GBB Race) (Class 2)
Doyen Quest silk

Doyen Quest

Analysis
7/4

Doyen Quest was progressive towards the back end of last season and he appreciated the step up to three miles here last time out. A 10lb rise is not insignificant but he’s lightly raced enough to suggest there could be more to come.

Situated in the picturesque county of Gloucestershire at Prestbury Park, Cheltenham hosts some of the best jump racing in the UK and is one of the most famous National Hunt venues in the world. We have tips for every meeting which always attracts an abundance of quality, from their opening Showcase Meeting in October, to the final race day in April. Cheltenham boasts a plethora of graded contests throughout the season with 14 at the highest level at the famous festival in March, known as ‘The Greatest Show On Turf’.

Course: There are two tracks at Cheltenham, the Old Course and the New Course. They are both left-handed, testing circuits with the former a mile and a half and the latter half a furlong longer. The hurdles tracks are quite different as on the New Course, there are only two hurdles in the final seven furlongs which makes it more a test of stamina. At the Festival, the Old Course is used on the first two days with the New Course playing host the final couple of days.

Feature Meeting: The Cheltenham Festival is undoubtedly the highlight of the National Hunt season. With four days packed with championship race after championship race, it’s a racing lover’s dream. We provide high-quality Cheltenham tips as well as detailed analysis for every race at the Festival.

Cheltenham Festival Tips

Our Cheltenham Festival tips will be posted in the weeks and months before the Festival, focusing initially on the biggest races with the strongest form lines. All our Cheltenham Festival racing tips will be posted as early as possible, although the nature of horse racing declarations means that some (mainly the handicaps) can only be posted the afternoon or evening before.

We make our predictions as a team; each of our expert tipsters spends hours, if not days, researching every race and watching every race in the lead up to the big event. These tips are then discussed in a committee, with the strongest picks for each race being selected as our official Cheltenham Festival tips.

We will have Cheltenham Festival betting tips for every one of the twenty-eight races, with full runner by runner previews as well as the best Cheltenham Festival free bets being offered by the bookmakers.

How do I bet on Cheltenham races?

There are many ways you can place a bet at Cheltenham, whether during the Festival or any other meetings. Below is a list of how to bet on Cheltenham:

Directly on myracing with our partners. With myracing you will be able to access a range of betting partners to place an online bet with one-click betslips from our integrated partners.
Online betting with the bookmakers. Probably the most popular and common formality to bet on the races at the Cheltenham Festival. All you need to do is sign up with a bookmaker, pick your horse by its number, choose what stake you want to put down and what bet you want to place.
Tote Betting. Instead of the bookmakers offering you odds and prices for each horse per race, the Tote will offer you a pooled bet. This means that they will pool the money together for any given race and share this amongst customers with the winning tickets. These pool bets can be done for a single race or across various races with bets such as a Placepot or Scoop6.
Bet On-Course. Betting the good old fashioned way still appeals to some punters. Some of positives include shopping around for the best price on the track, being able to assess racing conditions with your own eyes and, let’s face it, who doesn’t love taking cash right out of the bookies satchels and putting it straight into their own pocket? The negatives are that the majority of these bookmakers do not offers key incentives such as price boosts, best odds guaranteed and extra places, all of which are essential to the every day bettor. The lack of markets compared to the online betting industry, such as ‘to place’ and ‘betting without the fav’, is also another reason that will put off a large number of people betting at the course on the day.
