There are numerous key factors to consider when trying to pick out winners and one of the most important ones is ground form. The going description at Brighton is currently good to firm (good in places) and with no rainfall expected, conditions should be pretty quick. We’ve picked out three horses with proven form on fast ground that should have a significant advantage. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Hitched has had three starts on good to firm ground and the only time he’s failed to place was on handicap debut. He was a narrow winner over a mile at Chepstow in June and went on to be denied by a neck when second at Yarmouth next time. David Simcock’s four-year-old was victorious at Wolverhampton when last seen and another big run could be on the cards.
Gallimimus will absolutely love the conditions here and the quicker the ground the better as far as he’s concerned. With three wins and a second to his name in five starts on good to firm, his record suggests he’ll be better suited by the conditions than any of his rivals. John Gallagher’s gelding also won his only start here at Brighton so the signs are pointing to victory.
La Rav is an experienced operator and the 10-year-old has won one of his three starts on good to firm and placed over course and distance in similar conditions. It has to be said that he hasn’t won since November 2022 but that victory came off a mark of 67, which is 16lb lower than his current one. He may be vulnerable from a win point of view but there’s enough runners for an each-way play here.
