Sunday’s highlights: Pipe sends two to Perth and who is the trainer to follow at Dundalk?

We have four meetings to look forward to across Britain and Ireland on Sunday, three of which are National Hunts cards and the Flat action is provided by Dundalk on the all-weather. We’ve picked out a couple of the day’s key angles and it’s interesting that David Pipe is sending two runners on the 896-mile round trip to Perth and there’s a trainer with a 50 per cent strike-rate at Dundalk this season. Take a look at our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

David Pipe sends two to Perth

It’s an 896-mile round trip to Perth from David Pipe’s Somerset base and it’s fair to say that connections had the option of sending their runners to a course closer to home. The fact that they have sent two runners up to Perth is therefore significant, so we’ve assessed their chances.

Ras Kassar is a completely unknown quantity here, although he was in fine form in France before joining this yard. This son of Rajsaman completed a hat-trick over hurdles and fences in the spring and was victorious at Sable-Sur-Sarthe when last seen. Don’t rule him out.

Fellow French import Grand Clermont absolutely bolted up when winning by 18 lengths at Uttoxeter in May and he was a respectable fourth in a decent race at the same track last month. This event looks a little easier and and he should go close of the same mark on this occasion.

Natalia Lupini is 5/10 at Dundalk

Natalia Lupini is the trainer to follow at Dundalk on Sunday, as her 50 per cent strike-rate really catches the eye. She has four opportunities to land a winner, so we’ve taken a closer look at her runners.

Final Melody was in good form towards the back end of 2025, finishing second three times and winning once in four starts from September to December. He’s entitled to be competitive off a mark of 80 but there’s a good chance he’ll need the run, on his first start for 212 days.

Whistling Jamesie landed a nursery here on handicap debut in October and the three-year-old is now on a 1lb lower mark, after three below-par efforts this year. Lupini’s gelding now looks well treated and you wouldn’t want to rule out a return to form.

Akashaa probably has her work cut out for her here, although she is still lightly raced. Narrowly denied when second over course and distance last August, a similar performance would give her a chance.

It’s hard to know what to expect from Sutton Hoo here, as the three-year-old showed a good attitude to win a maiden here in February but was very poor on handicap debut at Down Royal last time. We will need to see a vast amount of improvement on that evidence.
