Silvestre De Sousa & King Power Racing team up for 37-1 York double

Art Power

Silvestre De Sousa is a world class rider and is highly sought after. In 2020, no jockey had a better strike-rate at York. De Sousa had five winners resulting in a 24 per cent return which is very impressive.

He has three rides live on ITV Racing on Wednesday but we will be focusing on the first two. Both are owned by King Power Racing and at first glance, both have terrific chances.

This double returns 37-1 at the time of posting. If you want some free bets to use on the double, make sure you check out the best offers and enhancements on our website.

2.10 York

Leeds United FC supporters will be flocking to back Silvestre’s first ride of the afternoon. Trained by Kevin Ryan, Bielsa would be a deserving favourite for this handicap off the back of his recent efforts.

He looked like a potential Group performer as a four-year-old when winning three of his four starts. Sent off the 5-1 favourite for last year’s Wokingham at Ascot, he disappointed and it has been all downhill from there.

However, he was backed off the boards into 5-4 favourite on his seasonal return at Ayr this year and finished runner-up to Commanche Falls. That was his first run after a wind op and now with headgear on for the first time, he looks well treated.

2.40 York

Art Power looked like a Group 1 winner in waiting last season after racking up a four-timer. The four-year-old Dark Angel colt bolted up in an Ascot handicap off 97 before going on to land the Group 3 Lacken Stakes at Naas.

Group 1 winner Millisle was back in second that day and he followed that up with solid fourth-placed finishes in both the Sprint Cup and Champions Sprint.

This represents a drop in class on his seasonal return and he could be the type to become better with age.
