12:10 – bet365 Handicap (3) – 1m 4f (RTV)

It’s always fantastic to see Frankie Dettori in the blue of Godolphin and Yuri Gagarin (15/8) could well be a smart one for the John Gosden and Dettori combination. Costing 300,000gns, is a half-brother to four winners and is unbeaten in two career starts. He was upped to 1m 3f for his second career outing and was a ready winner at Kempton, only needing to be pushed out to score comfortably. He should have plenty more to offer now he’s sent handicapping, especially up a further furlong in distance, and a big run can be expected.

12:45 – bet365 British EBF Maiden Fillies’ Stakes (4) – 7f (RTV)

Charlie Appleby and Godolphin hold all the aces in this seven-furlong maiden, with three of the five horses from the Appleby yard all wearing the royal blue. Preference is for the Adam Kirby ridden Danilova (5/1), a daughter of Dubawi who is a full sister to Skiffle and half-sister to winners Golden Town and Wizara. She’s likely to do even better when she’s sent over the middle distances, but she’s still likely to show plenty over this distance and she’s got plenty of upside.

1:15 – bet365 Novice Stakes (4) – 1m (RTV)

A penalty may not be enough to stop Al Mutathar (3/1) making it two wins from two in novice company for Richard Hannon. The yard’s horses tend to improve for their opening effort, so the fact he was able to win on debut is a huge positive in itself. The way he travelled into that contest on the other course was extremely eyecatching and with Jim Crowley taking his first sit on the horse, he should be able to protect his unbeaten record.

1:50 – bet365 Mile Handicap (2) – 1m (ITV)

Making it third-time lucky with a victory at Newmarket on the Rowley course last  month, Eastern World (4/1) has run to a very high standard and goes into handicaps off a very attractive looking rating. Both his turf runs have come at Newmarket and that experience should stand him in good stead. He’s completely unexposed and progressive, which gives him very strong claims in this field.

3:00 – bet365 Superlative Stakes (Group 2) – 7f (ITV)

Half-brother to seven winners, including Group 3 winner Falls Of Lora, Master Of The Seas (11/2) made the perfect start to his career when landing a seven-furlong novice race on the Rowley course last month. He travelled very well into the contest and never looked in danger, scooting clear under hand riding in the closing stages. He should have plenty more to offer with further racing and the softer ground would be in his favour.

4:10 – bet365 Bunbury Cup (Heritage Handicap) – 7f (ITV)

Top-weighted Vale Of Kent (16/1) won this race twelve months ago and is touted to repeat those heroics a year later for Mark Johnston. He arrives this year in great form, going close at Royal Ascot in the Royal Hunt Cup before a close second in a Listed race at Epsom behind the smart Safe Voyage. He’s an extremely tough and gutsy sort who will relish a truly run seven furlongs, especially on a softer surface, which gives him excellent claims of repeating the feat in this contest.
