Saturday TV Stats – 10,390/1 Cracker Acca!

Call Me Lord and Mr Antolini jump the final hurdle in the Imperial Cup

Trends Analysis: Saturday 7th March 2020

The wait is almost over folks!

We are now just days away from the start of the 2020 Cheltenham Festival, but before we hear the famous Prestbury Park roar we’ve another wave of ITV Saturday races to take in.

This weekend the cameras head to Ayr and Wolverhampton – with six races across the two venues.

The bad news is that we lost Saturday’s Imperial Cup card at Sandown with a waterlogged track, so the ITV cameras have switched to Ayr to take in three races and also added an extra LIVE event to the two they were already showing at Wolverhampton.

At Wolverhampton, we’ve the Bombardier Golden Beer Lincoln Trial Handicap (1.35), plus the Heed Your Hunch At Betway Handicap (2.10) and the Listed Wulfruna Stakes (2:45) live on ITV– in the last-named race we’ve seen twelve of the last thirteen winners having won over seven furlongs before, while ten of the last thirteen successful horses returned 9/1 or shorter in the betting.

As always, we’ll be highlighting our TOP FOUR trends to look for from the ITV Racing and putting them in a big-priced ‘Cracker Acca’ – plus, giving you the ‘best of the rest’ trends from around the other tracks this Saturday.

Plus – don’t forget, you can also get more help finding the winner for all this Saturday’s races on our Free Horse Racing Tips page.

TV Stats ‘800/1 Cracker Acca’

(Pays £20,780 for a £2 stake)

1.55 Ayr: This has been a good race for the Lucinda Russell yard – they landed the top prize twice in the last three renewals. They try again this year with a horse called VENGEUR DE GUYE, who is a proven course and distance winner. Recent runs over hurdles have been below-par, but the return to fences looks a good move and he’s only two pounds higher than when winning by fourteen lengths at Kelso back in October. Jockey Tom Willmott gets on well with the horse and is also able to take off a handy five pounds with his claim.

2.10 Wolverhampton: Trainer Ed Walker has a 25% record with his four-year-olds or older at the track, while his DESERT DOCTOR also won this race last year. His five-year-old is only three pounds higher this time and after a stint in Dubai should be cherry-ripe to defend his title back at a track he loves. His overall form at Wolverhampton reads 1-1-2-1-2!

2.30 Ayr: Trainer Iain Jardine has a decent 20% record with his hurdlers at the track, while jockey Ross Chapman boasts a 23% strike-rate when riding over the smaller obstacles at the course. They team-up here with a horse called ANIMORE. This seven-year-old was a nice winner at Kelso two runs back but didn’t enjoy going right-handed at Musselburgh last time. A return to a left-handed track looks a big plus and also looks the sort to improve for the step up in trip.

2.45 Wolverhampton: With three runners in the race then trainer Mark Johnston means business here – he’s got Cardsharp, Marie’s Diamond and BLOWN BY WIND. All three are respected but the last-named looks the most interesting with jockey Joe Fanning riding. Fanning has ridden the winner of this race twice in the last five years, with one of those coming for Johnston (2016). The horse returns from a 145-day break but has gone well fresh in the past and has since been gelded since last seen winning easily at Musselburgh back in October.
