Friday is shaping up to be a fantastic day of action, with five cards from across the UK and Ireland! Lingfield will be utilizing its turf course, hosting a bumper eight-race card to get the hearts racing through the afternoon and into the evening!

The turf course at Lingfield tends to favour front-runners, thanks to the advantage of being on the far rail. Any horses wanting to come from the rear division will need to switch out and as such, it can be a strong advantage to be on a strong staying type. That said, the advantage is diminished on faster ground, as making up lengths from the rear is much easier.
A lot of the straight course is downhill which once again, favours those closer to the pace. If you get a horse in the lead setting the right fractions, they’re very difficult to peg back.
Operating at a 23% strike-rate on the turf course at Lingfield in the past five seasons and the only “top jockey” with a profit to a £1 stake, Pat Cosgrave rides just one at Lingfield on Friday. That is Discover Dubai in the 7.00 for Saeed bin Suroor, with Godolphin’s 170,000gns purchase having an excellent chance after showing up well on his debut earlier this month.
Jim Boyle has operated at a 19% strike-rate on Lingfield’s turf course, with a level stakes profit of £18.75. He saddles two on the Lingfield card on Friday, with both Spreadsheet (7.30) and Amaretto (8.00) arriving in good, consistent form.

4.25 – Elhafei at 5/1
Mick Appleby’s charge enjoyed a step up to 1m 5f when scoring readily here earlier in the month. A recent, prominent racing, 1m 6f second at Wolves can be upgraded given how quickly the pace collapsed and this is a drop in grade.
5.00 – Rocking Reg at 14/1
Ran to a good standard in her opening runs before being hampered on handicap debut. Unexposed on the turf and the trainer is among the winners, so better can be expected off two pounds lower.
5.30 – Bahia Star at 12/1
Makes her debut for the in-form Rae Guest, half-sister to Group 2 winner Beshaayir and the useful handicapper Kaeso. Makes plenty of appeal on paper and bred to have plenty of speed from the get-go.
6.00 – Napping at 6/4
Made it four wins from eight turf starts when scoring cozily at Windsor on Monday. Will be tough to beat under a penalty if replicating that effort.
6.30 – River Sprite at 20/1
Showed plenty of ability on debut before two lesser efforts since. Yard in great form of late, however, and Adam Kirby is booked on handicap debut. A return to six furlongs (the first time since his debut), can also help.
7.00 – Additional at 6/4
260,000gns purchase who went close on debut behind two useful types at Yarmouth. Should have come on plenty for the run and rates best of the bunch in a competitive heat.
7.30 – Stoweman at 12/1
Made it third-time lucky with a victory at Chepstow in August before struggling in heavy ground at Epsom since. Gelded since we last saw him and should be capable of better this term, especially on a sounder surface.
8.00 – In The Red at 7/4
Has come to life in recent starts and arrives on a hat-trick, winning a pair of Kempton handicaps easily. Still well-treated under a penalty for the latter success and goes well on faster turf; difficult to beat.
