Embour wins at Kempton under Martin Dwyer

The calendar has flipped over to December and the month starts with money pouring in for one at Kempton tonight. Rossa Ryan is the man in the plate for one who has almost halved in price in an hour from 9am this morning.

We have horse racing tips for all cards today on the site, including Kempton. There is also racing at Haydock where a splash in the mud is the order of the day as well as at Lingfield and Dundalk. 7/1 is just about clinging on with bet365 as the best price at time of writing.

7.30 Kempton – Unibet New Instant Roulette Handicap (Div II)

Fitzrovia is the horse in question, running in the final race of the night at Kempton. The money has come in quickly this morning, 14/1 last night, there was still 12/1 available at 9am this morning but just an hour later, the Ed de Giles-trained runner has been has been cut into 7/1. That price available with just one firm, 6/1 in places.

He was a touch unlucky in running over this course and distance last time out, having his momentum checked at a crucial time when hampered by a fallen jockey. He caught the eye making ground late in the day there under hands and heels, his chance lost when the pace quickened.

Lower than all four of his prior winning marks, his best run on the all-weather came over this course and distance in September 2020. That was from seven pounds higher than he finds himself tonight so he is clearly well enough treated to play a big part here.

That most recent run came when he was trying blinkers for the first time. That headgear certainly didn’t look to do him any harm and have been retained for this contest. He needs a little more than he has shown since a close second at Salisbury in August but the money suggests that tonight might be the day he produces it.
