‘Paul Midgley farms the race’ – Tuesday’s Nap of the Day could open a big price

Myracing had a good jumps season with regard to the Nap of Day, supplying plenty of winners and only finishing outside the Top 10 in the overall standings for the illustrious Racing Post Naps Competition. Adrian Wall likes the look of a horse who could open a big price at Beverley on Tuesday so let’s see what the horse is below.

3.15 Beverley

It’s clear to see that Paul Midgley farms this 5f handicap and he has a couple of runners in the contest this year. Midgley won the race in 2018 with Desert Ace, won it in 2022 with Elegant Erin, and won it again in 2023 with Majeski Man. In 2019, he saddled the fourth, Johnny Cavagin who had an awful draw in stall 17.

Masterclass is having his first run for the yard here after leaving David Simcock and although he was a creditable second at Southwell when last seen, he has his work cut out to win this from stall 10. That leaves J R CAVAGIN, who rounded off his campaign last year with a win at Redcar when well backed.

Sent off favourite that day, he just did enough, and his comeback run at Newcastle when disappointing can be forgiven as he needed the run. It would be no surprise to see plenty of market support for this runner given the trainer’s record in the race, and conditions will be in his favour.

Another thing worth noting is the draw. He has a nice perch coming out of stall five and with David Nolan booked for the ride, everything looks set for a massive run so fingers crossed.
