York horses for courses: Adrian picks out three track winners to form 818/1 treble

Course form can be absolutely crucial when looking for a winner. If you know your way around a place, you are going to have an advantage over somebody who has never been there before. The same applies to horses – knowing your way around a venue is always a big advantage. Adrian Wall has picked out three former course winners running at York Racecourse on Wednesday. 2.45 York

Summerghand dead-heated in a quality handicap over course and distance last summer and was a huge eyecatcher when rattling home into fifth at Newmarket last month. He disappointed when strong in the betting at the same venue last time but it’s clear he has another big pot in him and it would be no surprise to see him go off favourite at all.

3.15 York

Swingalong will be ridden by Ryan Moore which is a real sign of intent and she has obvious claims on her return to action. She won the Summer Stakes here last year before finishing a brilliant fourth in the Champions Sprint Stakes at Ascot when last seen. A prominent races, she won’t be mucking about here and she has the class to get the job done.

5.20 York

Local trainer Kevin Ryan is always good for a winner at this meeting, and in the last former course and distance winner Dark Moon Rising could do the business. He won over track and trip off this mark last summer and although he has been largely out of form since, he could be geared toward this.
