Hollie Doyle to be retained by Classic-winning owner Imad Al Sagar

Dame Malliot

Hollie Doyle has continued to impress with her meteoric rise up the jockey ranks in recent months. There is further cause for excitement, as she takes up the retainer post for Imad Al Sagar.

Well deserved post for rising star

Hollie Doyle has become a fan favourite over the recent years and it’s not hard to see why. Doyle currently sits fifth in the British Champion Flat Jockey standings after a superb run since the lockdown. She has ridden thirty-eight winners since June 1st, with her total for 2020 currently standing at 73.

She broke through at Group level at Newmarket’s July Meeting, where she gave Dame Malliot perhaps the ride of the season thus far to win the Group 2 Princess Of Wales’s Stakes. Her success has rightly not gone unnoticed, as she takes up a new partnership with Imad Al Sagar.

Valuable Partnership

Owner of Blue Diamond Stud, Imad Al Sagar enjoyed Classic winning success when Authorized streaked clear in his colours to land the 2007 Derby in empathic fashion.

Many will remember the top-class Decorated Knight, a horse who dined three times at the top table in his colours. The ultra-talented son of Galileo highlighted his career with a jaw-dropping success in the 2017 Irish Champion Stakes.

That’s not forgetting the likes of Irish 2000 Guineas winner Araafa and Gimcrack scorer Ajaya. Aljazzi is another recent horse of prominence, a Royal Ascot winner back in 2018.

Speaking on bluediamondstud.co.uk, Al Sagar was extremely positive about his new retainer, saying: “We are thrilled to add Hollie Doyle to our team. We have all been impressed with how Hollie has risen to become one of the best of her profession. She is an extremely dedicated, strong and astute jockey“.

He continued to say, “We have some lovely horses to run for us this season and I look forward to Hollie becoming an invaluable member of our team“.

It’s a momentous and perhaps career-defining move for Doyle, who said of her new adventure: “I am delighted to be teaming up with Imad Al Sagar for the near future. I hope that we will have plenty of success”.
