88-1 accumulator: three Irish raiders with huge chances on Wednesday at York

Love

Irish trainers are no strangers to success at the York Ebor Meeting and they raid the course on Wednesday with several live chances. Aidan O’Brien has a few runners while Jim Bolger will also run Mac Swiney in the Juddmonte International. There is an under the radar Irish trainer with a runner in a stayer’s handicap that is hugely interesting too.

3.00 York

Aidan O’Brien has won the Great Voltigeur three times since 2001 and last did it with Idaho in 2016. He has three runners in the race this year. Ryan Moore will partner High Definition who in all honesty has been very disappointing since his Beresford win last year. Frankie Dettori rides Sir Lucan and he is the most likely Irish winner in the race so me. Fourth to High Definition in the Beresford, he has improved a lot since and beat Wordsworth at Navan in May. He improved to beat that same horse when second in a Group 2 at Goodwood and he is continuing to progress.

3.35 York

Jim Bolger’s Mac Swiney would be hugely interesting here if the ground turned up soft but that looks unlikely. Aidan O’Brien’s Love could be the horse that they all have to beat. She may have disappointed behind Adayar and Mishriff at Ascot last month but she should be 100 per cent fit now. A five-length winner of the Yorkshire Oaks here last year, the track suits and she is the class act in the race.

4.10 York

Arcadian Sunrise was a recent scorer at the Galway Festival over hurdles and could be extremely well treated reverting to the Flat off a lowly mark of 90. He also bolted up at Punchestown in May and had a place on the flat at the Curragh sandwiched in between his two hurdle wins. Jamie Spencer has been booked for the ride so we can expect a patient ride and chances are nothing will be travelling as well as this lad turning for home.
