4 De Sousa Yarmouth Rides + a 576/1 Acca

Tuesday is the first day of the season at Yarmouth and all eyes will be on the man who has ridden more winners at the track in the last five years than anyone else, Silvestre De Sousa.

We have six Yarmouth betting tips for the action today, with the champion jockey having four mounts on the card. De Sousa has forty winners at the track in the last five seasons, six more than he has ridden at any other track in that time.

It feels like he is in the winner’s enclosure at every meeting at the track, with his four-timer in the summer of 2017 still fresh in the memory. His four rides today would pay out a tasty 576/1 acca!

1.30pm – Take It Down Under

It seems only right that the first race of the year at Yarmouth sees De Sousa on the favourite. A handicap debutante fitted with a tongue strap for the first time, the 7/2 opening show in a place is a distant memory.

A juvenile fillies race so full of blank canvases. Mark Johnston has had two winners from his first eight juvenile runners this year as well as two seconds and two thirds, with this filly his sole runner on the card.

2.35pm – Love So Deep

Bred to be considerably better than her current rating, she enjoyed the step up to this trip last time out. Has an extra five pounds to add to her task here but that shouldn’t stop her running her race.

4.35pm – Mother Of Dragons

Interesting to see De Sousa jocked up for the first time on this filly. She isn’t the easiest to win with but she has won at this track, with her best form coming when ridden from the front, a style that suits De Sousa perfectly.
