Tips for Yarmouth Races

Located near the coast east of Norwich, it’s location just over an hours drive from Newmarket means it often attracts competitive fields.

Course: Yarmouth is a flat and fair track, with a left-handed oval for longer trips and a straight mile. It’s a good test of horses, and our Yarmouth tips are often gallopers who can get into a good stride pattern down the five furlong finishing straight.

Draw Bias: There is no draw bias for the majority of races at Yarmouth. Over the minimum trip of five furlongs, there has historically been a slight draw bias towards those drawn high, but not enough to majorly affect our tips.

Feature Race: Yarmouth’s races are always worth watching, especially in the early season when they attract two year olds who often go on to win bigger races later that season. The feature race of the year is the John Musker Fillies Stakes, a Listed race for fillies and mares, over one mile and two furlongs. This was won in 2015 by So Mi Dar, who went on to finish 3rd in the Prix de l’Opera at Chantilly a month later.
