How We Did It

First up in our Acca came the Tom Dascombe trained Flowers On Venus at 8/11 and we expected a massive run from the 5-year-old now that he was back in Claiming company. Everything panned out perfectly with Richard Kingscote making the running at his leisure and once he asked his mount to quicken, the response was emphatic. The others couldn’t get near him and we had our first Acca win on the board. Lovely stuff!

Sky Full Of Stars was our second runner and had been tipped at a great price of 9/4, which made him the “riskiest” looking proposition. Under the ever cool Brian Hughes, James Ewart’s charge travelled well and although it looked like he would face a mighty battle coming to the last, he kept on strongly to draw clear late on. It was a brilliant ride and BOOOOOOOOOM, we were dreaming of yet another Acca winner.

Our NAP of the day was 6/4 shot Smiley Bagel and he was also the final horse we were waiting on to land a lovely touch. Richard Kingscote was again the man entrusted to get the job done and he did it brilliantly, finding a perfect position before producing the gelding to kick on at the right time. They went on to win by a length and MRT HQ went wild! KA-BOOOOOOOOOM, 3/3 and a £170 Acca in the bag! Get in there!
