Ascot, Haydock and Wincanton are included, so cross those fingers for the wind doing nothing more than blowing home a winner.

Sam Brown (1:50 Ascot – Haydock)

While Cyrname and co will take centre stage at Ascot on Saturday, the progressive staying chaser Sam Brown can play a strong supporting role.

Anthony Honeyball’s strapping eight-year-old hasn’t been the easiest to train but when he actually makes it to the racecourse he is a very hard horse to beat.

He gave the impression that, when conditions are in his favour, he was going right to the top of the tree with victory at Haydock last time over a trip on the short side.

From looking in trouble a mile from home, Sam Brown hit overdrive off the home turn and eventually romped away to score with his head in his chest.

The three-mile trip on Saturday is just what he needs and there are no question marks over racing right-handed as he has won at the likes of Wincanton in the past.

Although he has only raced on six occasions over the last three seasons, there are five victories on his stable door and he can add to that on Saturday.

The Worlds End (2:05 Haydock – Saturday)

This is a good opportunity for The Worlds End to add another decent staying hurdle to his CV.

He was easily brushed aside by Paisley Park and Thistlecrack at Newbury in November but has won two other starts this season, most recently at Ascot in December where he stayed on strongly to catch the tiring L’Ami Serge in the dying strides.

Quel Destin (2:45 Wincanton – Saturday)

The could be a huge day for Paul Nicholls and Quel Destin can get him up and running.

The five-year-old didn’t quite stay two miles, four furlongs and 56 yards at Cheltenham on New Year’s Day but he enjoyed dropping back to the minimum trip at Sandown last time out, staying on strongly to beat Call Me Lord.

That is arguably the best recent form on offer and he’ll be hard to beat with conditions against set to be in his favour.

Yala Enki (3:15 Haydock – Saturday)

Good ground was against Yala Enki when he could only finish a distant fifth last year but he surged to victory in the 2018 renewal and look in decent shape at Taunton last month, overcoming a couple of late mistakes to score a convincing victory over Rock The Kasbah.

Back at arguably his favourite venue and on a surface that is sure to suit, he looks a cracking each-way bet.
