myracing Singles Bets

Our singles bets are some of our favourite to tip, as they regularly provide big odds winners and Each Way places for our followers. When selecting our Singles bets, our experts generally focus on larger prices to provide more value, and they have previously selected winning or placing selections as big as 100/1!

Some of our single bets will also be included in our other bets, such as our Each Way Double, or in Each Way Lucky 15s. If they are listed in the Singles tips section, then we would also recommend backing them as Singles, as this helps reduce variance – of course, this decision is totally up to each individual punter and there are reasons for and against each tactic.

What are singles tips?

Singles tips are horse racing bets on just a single horse – the simplest type of bet possible. A win single on one horse is just that; back a horse, and if it wins you win. The amount you win is your stake multiplied by your odds. For example, £10 at 9/1 on a winner would return £100.

Things get slightly more complicated when backing Each Way bets, as we advise followers of our tips at odds of around 6/1 and above. Backing an Each Way single is actually two bets in one; half the stake goes on the win part of the bet, and half the stake goes on the horse to finish in the official places (normally 1st, 2nd or 3rd, but it depends on the exact type of race). For that reason, placing £1 Each Way on a horse will actually cost you £2.

How are the single tips picked?

As with all our tips, we have a team of experts who are constantly working to try and deliver the best results. They each individually go through the racecards for the next day (or even further ahead for the bigger meetings), using the years of knowledge they have built up to select a handful of tips which they think offer value at the current prices and are good bets. We then combine all these tips together – two heads are better than one, so a team of heads must be even better – and use the accumulated information to select our bets for each day.

Our team sadly don’t get every bet right, but they can provide full reasoning as to why each bet was tipped. Feel free to tweet us and our social team can give you their opinion on why we tipped the horse, or if requested can ask any experts why they selected it in their own words.
