Built in 1907, Uttoxeter Racecourse is the only track in Staffordshire and stages jump racing. History was made in 2002 when Sir Anthony McCoy became the winning-most National Hunt jockey of all time when he won aboard Mighty Montelfaco, marking his 1,700th victory.
Course: It’s a sharp 1 mile 3 furlong left-handed circuit with a few undulations, but it’s a fair track suiting many horses. The fences can prove quite demanding though so we need our tips to be sound in the jumping department at this venue.
Feature Race: The Midlands Grand National is the feature race at Uttoxeter, worth £70,000 to the winner. Run in March over 4 miles 2 furlongs, conditions can be very tough making it an extreme test of stamina. Our tips for this race will be thorough stayers that relish a true test.
