‘He’s ridiculously overpriced’ – 22/1, 20/1 and 14/1 ITV Outsiders on Friday

The ITV cameras are out once again on Friday and eight races from Windsor, Market Rasen and Newcastle will be televised live on terrestrial TV. We’re back with our usual feast of outsiders and they include a 22/1 shot that looks ridiculously overpriced in the Middle Distance Chase Series Veterans’ Handicap Chase. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

1.25 Market Rasen

Paint The Dream (22/1, William Hill) also happens to be our Nap of the day and appears to have a massive chance here. David Brace’s gelding has only had two starts for his current yard and those have come off the back of a lengthy 650-day absence. Easily the best of these when at the peak of his powers, he ran out an easy winner of a competitive 2m4f handicap chase Newbury in November 2022. The 11-year-old is currently on a 14lb lower mark and is therefore entitled to go very close.

2.35 Market Rasen

Cloudy Glen (14/1, William Hill) is not always the most consistent of horses and you learn early on whether or not he’s up for it on the day. Venetia Williams’ gelding returned to winning ways at Haydock on seasonal debut and he won the Ladbrokes Trophy back in 2021. He’s more than capable of coming out on top here and Charlie Deutsch is on board.

3.35 Windsor

Givemefive (20/1, Paddy Power) makes his handicap debut here and Harry Derham’s five-year-old produced some excellent form in juvenile hurdles last season. He was perhaps a little disappointing in a Grade 3 at Fairyhouse when last seen but this race looks easier and a better performance is anticipated this time around.
