Hollie Doyle is a world class rider yet the bookmakers often do not price her up accordingly. On Tuesday, she rode a horse for John Gosden at Royal Ascot called Amtiyaz and the horse duly obliged at huge odds of 33-1.
For a start, it was a surprise that a Gosden runner in a handicap went off at such large odds. But on top of this, Hollie often still seems to be overlooked in the market.
We have taken a closer look at her three rides on Thursday and if they all win, you might be able to buy yourself a house!! The monster treble at the time of doing this article returns over 13,000-1. It is very unlikely that all three will win, but just one winner could be enough to make a profit.
Doyle’s first ride of the day is in the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes where she will ride King Of Speed. Robert Cowell, who himself has proven himself to be the king of speed races, trains the horse. The Acclamation colt made all at Redcar 17 days ago and is not to be underestimated for all he will have to improve again.
Moving on to the Ribblesdale Stakes, Hollie will partner the lightly raced Aristia for Richard Hannon. The filly belied odds of 20-1 when scoring at Newbury on debut over 1m2f. She was then far from disgraced when third in Listed company at that same track and remains with potential.
Stradivarius is the horse to beat but he might have met his match this year with the Alan King-trained Trueshan. The gelding bolted up in the Long Distance Cup here last October, leaving dual St Leger heroine Search For A Song well behind in second. Stradivarius didn’t turn up on the day and was back in 12th. He might have his work cut out to beat Doyle’s horse here.
