Royal Ascot rolls on and Friday’s Day 4 card is the penultimate one of the meeting. As per usual, there’s a significant amount of Irish interest. Aidan O’Brien isn’t the only Irish trainer to keep an eye on, so with that in mind we’ve picked out four interesting raiders from other yards. These can be combined to form a Lucky 15 which may well be of interest. Green Sense was an impressive winner of a maiden at the Curragh over this trip on debut. The style in which she pulled three lengths clear of her rivals was certainly eye-catching. Second in a Group 3 contest at Naas after that, Signora was back in third that day and she is the current market leader.
Babouche represents the Ger Lyons yard and she has loads of talent. She has come out on top twice against Whistlejacket, including in the Phoenix Stakes last season. This daughter of Kodiac returned to winning ways in good style at Naas last time out and should be going very close here.
Ethical Diamond is a smart performer for Willie Mullins, across both codes. The five-year-old finished fourth in the County Hurdle and in this very race last season. The handicapper has put him up a couple of pounds since but he can run well, provided he settles better this time around.
Zahrann really could be anything and he has made a very good impression so far. Johnny Murtagh’s colt only made his debut in April and he bolted up in a maiden on his penultimate start. Impressive again when upped to 1m4f in Listed company after that, more is needed but he’s entitled to progress again.
