The Cheltenham Festival is coming to a close for another year but we still have seven more races to look forward to. Friday’s Day 4 card includes the biggest race of the meeting, the Gold Cup, and we have a 20/1 outsider for you. We’ve also got three more outsiders to follow across the card, including a 40/1 mare that could run a huge race. MyRacing will provide free tips for every Cheltenham Festival race and our Day 4 selections can be found here.
Pinot Gris (18/1, betfred) ran a cracker to finish second in a Listed handicap for four-year-olds at Listowel in September and went one better in a novice at Naas after that. Gavin Cromwell’s gelding was just denied in a competitive race at Leopardstown over Christmas and if building on that effort here, a big run could be on the cards.
Fontaine Collonges (40/1, bet365) can be a little temperamental but she’s a talented mare when on a going day. She made a seemingly competitive handicap look anything but when winning at Haydock earlier this season and you can’t ignore her at those odds. Her trainer has done it before, with Pink Legend running Elimay close in 2022 and this mare has a similar profile.
Corbetts Cross (20/1, betfair) is probably vulnerable from a win point of view but Emmet Mullins runner is a live each-way contender. This horse won the National Hunt Chase impressively here last season and there won’t be many capable of outstaying him. There are places to play for here and Corbetts Cross is more than capable of filling one.
No Questions Asked (20/1, betfred) has won a couple of novice hurdles, albeit at some of the smaller tracks, but he also wasn’t beaten far when second in a Listed contest last month. Novices tend to do well in this race and connections can’t complain with a mark of 138.
