Tuesday’s racing comes from five venues. Leicester, Punchestown, Hereford and Huntingdon make up the afternoon action, before Newcastle takes over in the evening. We’ll have horse racing tips for all five meetings, including a NAP of the Day and Lucky 15 tips!
At the time of writing, William Buick sits five winners behind Oisin Murphy in the jockeys championship. Murphy has some strong rides on Monday evening, which could turn the tide back in his favour – that means Tuesday will have to be the swing day for Buick.
Godolphin’s number one has eight chances on Tuesday and with lots of shorter prices, he has a good chance to strike back. An accumulator of his best rides returns xx-1 and you can find all the details below.
Buick’s day kicks off on Godolphin’s Yukon Star, trained by Charlie Appleby. A son of Oasis Dream, his Dam was a six-furlong juvenile winner and a sister to the Listed-placed Graffiti Master. Appleby’s debut runners are usually clued up well and his recent form has been exceptional (11/29 in the last two weeks). On that basis, this runner needs plenty of respect.
The first of his big chances is on the Appleby-trained newcomer Parlando. A son of Dubawi in Godolphin’s colours, he’s a brother to Listed winner Discurus and makes a huge amount of appeal on paper. Appleby has an excellent record with his juveniles and any positive market vibes will be telling.
Perhaps Buick’s best chance of the day, Porsche Cavalier is nine pounds clear on ratings in this conditions contest. She gained some valuable black-type at Salisbury on her most recent start, finishing fourth at Group 3 level, and this is a drop in grade for her. She’s unexposed over six furlongs and should prove very tough to beat if backing up her recent form.
Clear on ratings and favoured on these terms, Maysong is the deserving favourite in this selling contest. Placed on three occasions in 2021, all of those efforts came at Class 5 handicap level, which gives him an excellent chance at this lower level. Seven furlongs may prove ideal in terms of trip and he’s the one to beat.
One of our tips on Tuesday, Rhythm N Rock has above-average claims of making it second time lucky. He really caught the eye on debut, surging home after looking well held as they turned into the straight. Natural improvement can be expected and switched onto the turf, Buick can turn over Oisin Murphy on the short-priced favourite.
