Clive Cox’s Salisbury stat

Lambourn-based trainer Clive Cox has a 67 per cent strike-rate with three-year-old newcomers at Salisbury and that bodes well for the chances of his representative there on Wednesday.

Annie Sioux makes her debut in what looks like a fairly weak novice and the daughter of Sioux Nation is a half-sister to Mick Appleby’s useful sprinter Shagraan. She was a 40,000 guineas purchase and it would be unwise to rule out a big performance.

800,000 guineas purchase makes her debut at Kempton

Goldolphin were very keen to capture Miss Miniver and they went all the way to 800,000 guineas to ensure that they didn’t miss out. Her half-brother Facteur Cheval won a Group 1 and her dam, Jawlaat, is an unraced relative of a two-time Group 3 winner. She’s potentially one to keep an eye on.

King Of Sharja has won three times on turf and all of those successes have come here at Beverley. Drawn in stall 3, he was second by a head off a 2lb higher mark at Southwell in May and a reproduction of that form would surely give him every chance.

Style Of Life has an advantageous draw in stall two and there’s plenty to like about her form from last season. Harriet Bethell’s mare was a good second off a higher mark at Pontefract last term and she’ll improve significantly for her latest run at York.

We haven’t seen the best of Rumble Ruby in handicap company just yet but Lermos De Souza’s filly wasn’t disgraced when fourth at Lingfield last time out. She landed a novice by a comfortable margin on her penultimate start and the three-year-old remains very lightly raced.
