Having developed an interest in racing whilst in college some years ago, James has worked in many areas of the industry, including a stint hiding his face on radio! From 2008 until 2017, he ran a successful tipping service and has had shares in numerous horses including the wonderful Fast Shot. Unsurprisingly given some of the horses he has bought shares in, his punting passions lie in sprint handicaps on both the turf and All-Weather surfaces!

33/1 Value Bets winner smashed in recently. View today’s selections below.

12:30 Lingfield – Jack Berry House – 1pt @ 11/1

This will be the third time in a row to support JACK BERRY HOUSE on the column and possibly the last if he doesn’t perform! However, there are reasons to expect better with the 3-year-old running for the first time since having a wind-op after his most recent outing in September. Given that he has been tongue-tied for most of his career, breathing issues could have been holding him back and if that proves to be the case, he’s well-treated off a mark of 65. The sharper mile should suit and a wide draw over this C&D is not the negative many may think it is. At any double-figured price, he’s worth one last go in hope more than expectation!

1:05 Lingfield – Captain Dion – 1pt @ 6/1

CAPTAIN DION is seriously pacy and remains fairly handicapped despite winning three races since June. I thought he shaped well at Chelmsford last time, setting a savage early pace to tee things up for the closers to dominate and the fact that he only cracked in the closing stages is a plus, with that race being over 7f. Now, he drops back to a sprinting trip on a sharper track and whilst there are some potential pace threats depending on what tactics connections use, there aren’t many who definitely want to be up top and that can help to give him an edge. From a good stall to emerge from, he may be hard to peg back.

1:40 Lingfield – Autumn Splendour – 1pt @ 8/1

Milton Bradley’s runners go well around here (12-94; +25 LSP) and AUTUMN SPLENDOUR could be set to enhance the figures if building on a promising run at Wolverhampton this day last week. The former James Tate inmate is a full 33lbs below his peak rating achieved last year due to being badly out of form for a lot of 2019 but hinted that his turn may be edging closer when running on into sixth in first-time blinkers. That was a solid race for the grade and he drops down another level to a Class 6 here, one that none of the rivals who beat him would be eligible to run in. The step up to 6f is another positive and hopefully he’ll show why.
