Having developed an interest in racing whilst in college some years ago, James has worked in many areas of the industry, including a stint hiding his face on radio! From 2008 until 2017, he ran a successful tipping service and has had shares in numerous horses including the wonderful Fast Shot. Unsurprisingly given some of the horses he has bought shares in, his punting passions lie in sprint handicaps on both the turf and All-Weather surfaces!

Following a 7/1 winner yesterday, James Boyle has picked out two Value Bets.

5:25 Newcastle – First Dance – 1pt win @ 6/1

FIRST DANCE looks a couple of points on the large side in the opening handicap and should go well. The 5-year-old mare is on a long losing run but there has been more promise the last twice, both runs coming over C&D, and she would have done better on each occasion if the early pace wasn’t so slack. Whether it will be much quicker today, I’m not entirely sure, but a win will come her way soon and this opposition is far from brilliant. If they go hard enough up top, she can finish fast and go close.

7:00 Newcastle – Jalaad – 1pt win @ 8/1

Things haven’t gone to plan for JALAAD since he landed his maiden at Doncaster but the handicapper is giving him a chance, dropping him a generous 5lbs for a no-show at Newmarket last time. However, fast ground on an undulating track may not be what he’s after and for a while now I’ve thought a return to a mile would be in his favour. He gets the longer distance today, takes a hidden class drop also and has to be a contender if he’s in form after a couple of months off the track. 8/1 is a worthy play.
