Having developed an interest in racing whilst in college some years ago, James has worked in many areas of the industry, including a stint hiding his face on radio! From 2008 until 2017, he ran a successful tipping service and has had shares in numerous horses including the wonderful Fast Shot. Unsurprisingly given some of the horses he has bought shares in, his punting passions lie in sprint handicaps on both the turf and All-Weather surfaces!

Racing tipster James Boyle has picked out a couple of selections for Friday’s action.

4:30 Sandown – So Beloved – 1pt win @ 6/1

It’s over three years since SO BELOVED has managed to get his head in-front but despite getting on in age, David O’Meara’s charge still possesses a lot of ability and has posted solid RPR’s on all three of his 7f handicap outings this year.

His most recent appearances came at a mile in valuable handicaps at Goodwood and York, the latter being somewhat promising itself, and for the first time since May of 2015, he doesn’t have a three-figured rating. He will have top weight, but that won’t be an issue.

Given his run style, he’ll need luck and a solid pace to sit off, but the class factor is on his side and cheekpieces return for the first time in a few months. The last time they were on, he posted an RPR of 108 behind Cardsharp and a similar number would see him win this, probably with a bit to spare.

5:30 Doncaster – Intisaab – 1pt win @ 15/2

INSTISAAB could possibly give the O’Meara team an across the card double. He too has dropped down the weights, now 5lbs below last July’s Curragh success, and shaped well enough at Chelmsford last time out when keeping on over 7f from a wide draw. That was quite a hot race as well.

Danny Tudhope rides for just the second time since the horse’s last win, which can only be a help given how well he’s riding in recent times, and this slightly shorter trip on a straight track should also prove to be more favourable. With a bit of fortune in-running, a first win of 2019 may be achieved.
