Having developed an interest in racing whilst in college some years ago, James has worked in many areas of the industry, including a stint hiding his face on radio! From 2008 until 2017, he ran a successful tipping service and has had shares in numerous horses including the wonderful Fast Shot. Unsurprisingly given some of the horses he has bought shares in, his punting passions lie in sprint handicaps on both the turf and All-Weather surfaces!

Horse Racing tipster James Boyle has picked out two 20/1 selections for today.

7:35 Newcastle – Elusive Heights – 1pt win @ 20/1

It wouldn’t be a surprise to see ELUSIVE HEIGHTS go well. Roger Fell’s charge hasn’t won for a while but shaped with some promise at Ayr last time and has been eased another couple of pounds by the handicapper since. He could be seen making headway against the rail before being tight for room and the impression I got was that he hadn’t reached peak form but wasn’t all that far away. Returning to an artificial surface and this C&D, over which he has previous, can help and he looks overpriced.

8:05 Newcastle – Cameo Star – 1pt win @ 20/1

CAMEO STAR doesn’t boast a hectic win record either but he’s over a stone below his peak mark and will eventually find one of these mediocre handicaps come his way. As recently as August, he placed a couple of times from a 3lb higher mark, including over C&D in a slightly better classed event, and soft ground might partly explain his most recent two performances being below-par. Back here, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him do better and he’s a worthy play at the current prices.
