Shark Hanlon sends one runner to Nottingham

The trainer famous due to his stable star Hewick, Shark Hanlon has a sole Flat representative at Nottingham on Tuesday in the form of Hello Garda in the 1m2f apprentice hands and heels contest (2.45). He ran his best race yet on handicap debut when fitted with cheekpieces last time out on the level when second at Chepstow last month. He ran a poor race on hurdles bow since but better is expected back on the Flat.

Salisbury newcomer worth a market check

Clive Cox has an incredibly impressive level stakes profit of £88.37 to £1 stakes with debutants and Silver Sovereign is definitely worth a market check on debut in the 6f novice stakes at Salisbury (7.21). A first foal of Ten Sovereigns, her dam is a sister to 7f winner Dance At Night, a half-sister to 7f Group 3 winners Dancing Star and Foxtrot Lady, out of a 6f winner, and is the granddaughter of Nunthorpe winner Lochangel. She has an interesting pedigree.

In form John Ryan the man to follow at Ballinrobe

Trainer John Ryan’s string is in tremendous form at present and the yard are going for three in a row in the 2m1f handicap hurdle (6.39). Their sole representative is Eye Of A Tiger and JJ Slevin will take the ride. The mare won a Kilbeggan maiden hurdle and although she is yet to do much in handicap company, she was very well supported in the betting here on her penultimate run and it would be no surprise to see the money come again.
